Proud to be an American?
Then show it!
This page is a little different for us here at James'
LEO Pages. I am a veteran and recently I found a few sites that really opened up some
"put away" feelings I have about things. Here on this page I would like to share
those feelings with you all. I hope you enjoy it and find the "Patriot" in
yourselves.
These ribbons are the ones that I was awarded for my tour in
the United States Marines. While serving my country I was involved in the Gulf
War and Somalia. I served onboard the U.S.S. Saratoga (CV-60) as part of the
Marine Detachment whose job was to ensure the ships safety against terrorist
threats, and the safety of the weapons aboard ship. I was also with
"A" Company 1st Battalion, 7th Marines. My tour was from June 1989
until June 1993. My rank was Corporal when I left active duty.
Some Marine Corps knowledge you may find interesting:
This plaque was found on one of the sites I told you about, and if you
will read this with an open and loving heart you will get the true
meaning of the author.
I was in both Desert Shield and Desert Storm, I was also in
"Operation Restore Hope" or Somalia. These medals mean the world to me and I
could never expound on the feeling I get from serving my country with pride and
distinction. Yet for some reason we have failed our true heroes. Those that were never
brought home. Our POW's and MIA's, I am sure those that are still alive have never
forgotten us. So should we forget them?
The Proud
Veteran ribbon design above was designed at Ron's Patriotic Web Graphics also.
The
colors are those of the United States of America. The gold star represents the loyalty and
dedication that all of our honorable Veterans possess and the singleness of purpose shared
by all branches of our military. |
